The new version just got approved and is available on Xbox Live. You should be prompted to grab the new patch when you start Music Box. The new patch fixes the “new” bug, and some other minor fixes that somehow got lost when I ported the project from XNA3 to XNA4.
Bugs and patches
Yikes! There’s a bug in the current release. Thanks to everyone who has played the game and found the “new” bug. Having too many notes programmed in, and selecting “new”, doesn’t stop the currently playing notes, or the notes that are queued up to be played. There’s a patch already in the system, and has been waiting for several days to be approved by the Xbox Live Indie Games reviewing process. I’ll be posting an update once it’s approved.
1000 sales!
Music Box has just broken 1000 units in sales in the 4 days that it’s been available on the marketplace! That is much more than I could have anticipated! Huge thanks to everyone that’s purchased it; it’s very fulfilling knowing that people are enjoying it. I think that now I’ll start porting it for Windows Phone, since the interface just begs for touch input.
New review, awesome response
The response for Music Box has so far been amazing! Create Digital Music has recently posted a review of Music Box as well.
Music Box is live!
Music Box has passed peer review, and is now available on Xbox Live! Go check it out, under the Indie Games section. So far, the response has been great, and Music Box has gotten about 2 dozen ratings in the last 18 hours.
Site up and Music Box submitted for review
Looks like Music Box is finally done, and submitted for peer review! Once that’s done, off to the Xbox Live marketplace it goes. I finished editing together a gameplay video – here it is:
